OpenAI has introduced GPT-6 Astra, and the interesting part is not simply that it can give better answers. GPT-6 Astra is designed for longer tasks involving research, computer use, documents, spreadsheets, and other work that normally requires several steps. Instead of telling AI what to do every few minutes, the idea is to give it a goal and let it work through more of the process.

Imagine asking AI to research five products, compare them, organize the findings, and prepare a recommendation. That is the direction GPT-6 Astra represents. For businesses and everyday users, AI may slowly move from being something we ask questions to into something we give actual work.
The bigger question now is simple: if AI can use our computers and complete useful tasks with less supervision, are we still using an assistant or beginning to manage a digital worker?

For most of us, this could simply mean getting a better idea of whether it will rain before leaving home. But the impact could be much bigger for farmers planning around changing weather, energy companies managing solar and wind power, airlines preparing for difficult conditions, and communities responding to dangerous storms.
AI is usually discussed through chatbots, images, and videos. WeatherNext 3 is a reminder that some of the most useful AI may work quietly in the background, helping us answer a very old question: what is the weather going to do next?

NYC Is Limiting AI for Nearly 600,000 Students

New York City is putting a one-year pause on student-facing generative AI for children from 2-K through eighth grade, affecting nearly 600,000 public-school students. The NYC AI school policy is based on a growing concern: students can now use AI to solve problems, write answers, and finish assignments before they have really learned the skills behind them.
But NYC is not completely turning away from AI. High-school students will receive AI literacy education, while a limited number of supervised AI programs will also be tested. That creates an interesting balance: protect younger students from becoming dependent on AI while preparing older students for a world where the technology will probably be part of everyday work.
And that leaves parents and teachers with a difficult question. Should children learn to use AI as early as possible, or should schools first make sure they can think, write, and solve problems without it?
